Outlaw 8.5
CLASS DESCRIPTION:

OUTLAW 8.5 is a heads-up class for any Rear Wheel Driven “Doorslammer” type of vehicle. The class is based around a small 26 X 8.5 "non W" Slick or 235 Drag Radial,making OUTLAW 8.5, the Ultimate Driver/Tuner Class with
the intention of Limited tire size and weight requirements being the ultimate limiting factors.

Power adders are allowed, including the use of Nitrous Oxide, Turbocharged, Centrifugal and/or Roots Style Supercharged Combo's. **Nitrous and Boost Controllers are permitted!**

CLASS GUIDELINES:

BODY:

The car must retain its original appearance and profiles. Aftermarket fiberglass replacement panels (MUST BE STOCK APPEARING!) are limited to; hood, hood
scoop, fenders,doors, deck lids and bumpers.One piece front-ends are allowed.

(Hood must be separate) and must retain factory grill,head lights, and marker lights.Aftermarket wings and spoilers are permitted,but may not extend more than 10 inches from the transition point with the body to the tip.

The driver and passenger doors must open from inside and outside.

Lexan Windows are Permitted but must be Stock Appearing!

Maximum allowed Front overhang is 45" Max measured from Front axle centerline to forward most part of vehicle.

FIREWALL:

Must retain factory unaltered firewall, in factory location.
A cosmetic overlay is permitted.

HOOD / SCOOPS:

Forward facing hood scoops,within reason!, are allowed.

Plexiglass Scoops that bolt on top of Carb/Carbs,may also be used with Cowl Induction hoods up to 6" tall.(Call if     you have any questions!)

Fiberglass replacement hoods with "Factory Style" scoop(Cowl-Induction, Thunderbolt, Six-Pack,Hemi, etc...) are preferred.

*Air Cleaner protruding through Flat or short Cowl hood o.k.,no more than 4"*

INTERIOR:

Door panels, headliner(Prefered), carpet, dashboard are required. Back seat may be deleted, but must have carpet covering the bare floor.

SEATS:

Two front bucket seats prefered, or one bench seat with upholstery required.

Seats must remain in the stock location.

BRACKET RACING AIDS:

The use of "Reaction Time Devices" Optical Sensors, Delay Boxes, etc, is prohibited!

BRAKES:

All vehicles must have front and rear brakes.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:

FRONT SUSPENSION:

Suspension components must all remain in stock locations.Direct bolt-on A-arms are permitted. Tubular K-members that are a direct bolt on are permitted. Sway bars may be removed.Aftermarket Bolt-on Front End kits that use a strut to replace an a-arm type suspension for early Nova/Chevy II`s / Mustangs,etc..are permitted (Chris Alston, Smith Racecraft, Fat Man,Heidts, Scotts Hot Rods, T.C.I., etc..)


K-MEMBER:

Aftermarket factory-replacement-type K-member permitted, but must attach to the chassis using only the original factory OEM-type mounting bolts.


REAR SUSPENSION:

Bolt on traction devices are permitted. Leaf springs may be relocated "inboard" for tire clearance purposes,Mini tubs are permitted.

No full size wheel tubs will be allowed.

Ladder Bar type Suspension OK....Must retain Stock Floor!

**No Aftermarket 4 Links**

Any vehicle with additional mounting points/locations for rear suspension 4-link bars,leaf springs,torque arms,etc....will not be eligible for “Stock Suspension” weight break.

FRAME & CHASSIS:

Stock frame rails must be retained in stock locations front and rear on Stock

Suspension Vehicles and Notching of rear frame rails for tire clearance is OK.

Rear Frame can be Notched,Sectioned or Replaced on Ladder Bar entries,but, the Stock Floor must be retained(No Back-Half Chassis)

Sub frame connectors are permitted.

DRIVE TRAIN:

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS:

Any OEM automatic transmission permitted. Aftermarket torque converter, shift kit, valve body,shifter, and pan cooler are permitted. Trans brakes O.K.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION:

Manual transmissions are allowed.

Clutch/Automatics or planetary transmissions are not allowed.

All shifts must be made manually without the aid of electric, hydraulic or pneumatic devices.

ENGINE:

Cross-Breeding is O.K.

ENGINE BLOCK:

Aftermarket Cast Iron & Aluminum blocks are allowed.

ENGINE MOUNT LOCATION:

Engine must remain in stock location. Engine may not touch the factory unaltered firewall. **Motor plates are permitted**

CARBURETOR / THROTTLE BODY:

Any single or dual carburetor or throttle body set-up is allowed

NITROUS OXIDE:

All nitrous systems are allowed. Nitrous oxide commercially available, thermostatically controlled blanket-type warmer accepted. Any other external heating of bottles prohibited.The use of any agents other than nitrous oxide as part of, or mixed with, this pressurized fuel system is prohibited. If an entry is presented to tech as a non-nitrous weight break, all nitrous oxide lines,fittings, solenoids, and bottles must be removed before car is allowed to pass tech.

SUPERCHARGER / TURBOCHARGER:

Roots Blowers are Legal,but,the highest point of Hat/Scoop cannot exceed 8" above stock Hood. **Screw Superchargers are not allowed**

Centrifugal Superchargers and/or Turbochargers are permitted.


All air entering the Supercharger or turbocharger must pass through the inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing is prohibited(Excluding certain 4 & 6 Cyl Combos).

**Inlet Reducers may be used on Turbochargers**

Turbocharger size will be determined by measuring the smallest point of the Inlet or Reducer.


EXHAUST:

Production type mufflers are required. No collector inserts permitted.

Modification or removal of muffler internals is prohibited (no gutting).

Side exit permitted,no bullhorn style exhaust! Exhaust may not extend more than 3" beyond the body at exit point and cannot interfere with the staging beams!

FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS:

Gasoline/e-85 or Alcohol

OILING SYSTEM:

No Restrictions.

ONBOARD DIAGNOSTICS / DATA RECORDERS:

Onboard diagnostic computers and recorders are permitted. Memory and playback tachometers are allowed.

STEERING:

Rack and Pinion allowed on all vehicles.

STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

All cars are required to have working headlights and tail lights.

Brake lights & turn signals are (Prefered).

TIRES:

Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches. Front tires do not have to be DOT approved.

Rear Tires:

WHEEL BASE:

Must retain stock wheel base with a maximum variation right to left and front to back of one inch.

WCSA Point System:

We will be calculating points at each event, and will crown a champion at the conclusion of the season.

RACE DAY POLICIES:

SCALES:

After each qualifying and elimination pass, all cars must stop and weigh at the track scales. If you lose in eliminations and your opponent fails to make weight, you will be reinstated into the eliminations only if you made minimum weight requirements. If both cars failed to make minimum weight, both cars will be disqualified. It is the driver's responsibility to verify with each track scale, the weight of his/her car prior to each race day.

There will be a 10lb error factor allowed.

TOW BACK & TOW VEHICLES

Permitted

BYE-RUNS:

Vehicles must take the tree, and run down the 1/8 mile.
